We just registered our company in Cyprus. How do we find someone good to build our website?

Start with what the website must achieve. Then shortlist two or three web design studios or freelancers whose live projects show that result for businesses like yours. Compare written scopes, not hourly rates, and ask each one which platform they would use and why. Cyprus has no shortage of web design providers. The hard part is filtering, especially when you run your company in English and most local referrals travel through networks you haven’t joined yet.

Why hiring for web design in Cyprus feels harder than it should

You relocated, set up the company and opened the bank account. Now you need a website that makes the business look established to clients, partners and banks. Search “web design Cyprus” and you get dozens of agencies with similar promises and portfolios full of mockups.

The market is crowded for a reason. According to a KPMG Cyprus report covered by Cyprus Business News, the tech sector employed 48,200 people in 2025 and made up 16.2% of the economy. The same report warns of a widening skills gap. So there are many providers, the experienced ones are busy, and quality varies a lot.

Stage 1: Decide what the website has to do

A good brief starts with one business goal. For most relocated founders it is one of three things: win client trust, generate enquiries, or hire people. Each goal leads to a different site.

  • A professional services firm needs clear service pages, credentials and an easy way to book a call.
  • A product or SaaS company needs a fast landing page that turns visitors into sign-ups.
  • A growing team needs a careers page that sells the company to candidates.

Write the goal down in one sentence before you contact anyone. A good studio will question it and ask about your customers. A weak one will ask about colours first.

Stage 2: Choose between a freelancer, a studio and a large agency

The type of partner matters as much as the name. Here is how the three options compare for a founder-led company.

Partner typeWorks best whenWatch out for
FreelancerYou need a small site, have a clear brief and can manage the project yourselfOne person covers design, code and SEO, so a holiday or illness stops the project
Small studioYou want strategy, design, development and launch from one team, with access to the people doing the workCheck that the team itself builds the site, not unnamed subcontractors
Large agencyYou have many stakeholders, formal procurement and campaigns across several marketsHigher overhead, slower decisions, and juniors often do the hands-on work

Most founders and small teams in Cyprus end up with a freelancer or a small studio. A large agency makes sense when the website is one part of a bigger marketing contract.

Stage 3: Set a realistic budget before you ask for quotes

No neutral source publishes typical web design prices for Cyprus. The closest public benchmark is the Webflow Certified Partner directory, which lets you filter by budget bands from under $1,000 up to $100,000+. When we read it in 2026, the “starting at” prices on the first page ranged from $1,000 (a studio in Hungary) to $25,000 (UK) and $50,000 (US). A starting price is a floor, not a quote.

Plan the website budget alongside your company costs. The Registrar of Companies lists an incorporation fee of €165, or €235 for a company without share capital, plus €100 for accelerated registration. Lawyer fees come on top. One recurring cost has gone: the €350 annual company fee was repealed from 2024 under the Companies (Amendment) Law 2024.

A simple rule helps. Work out what one new client or one good hire is worth to you, and size the website budget against that number, not against the cheapest quote.

How do I find a web developer in Cyprus?

Three channels work. Referrals from your accountant, lawyer or business network come first, because those people have seen the work delivered. Portfolios and award sites come second: look for live websites, not polished mockups. Platform directories come third.

If you already lean towards Webflow, its partner directory lists over 1,200 certified partners, all vetted by the Webflow team. You can filter by location (Cyprus is an option), language (including Greek), services and budget, or use the free matchmaking tool. For a custom Next.js build there is no equivalent directory, so referrals and portfolios carry more weight.

Seven questions to ask every studio on your shortlist

  1. Which platform would you use for this project, and why that one?
  2. Who exactly will design and build the site?
  3. Can you show a live site you built for a business like mine, and what changed after launch?
  4. How do you handle SEO for Google and visibility in AI assistants like ChatGPT?
  5. Can my team edit content without calling you?
  6. What does the written scope include, and what costs extra?
  7. What happens after launch: support, updates and hosting?

Stage 4: Judge the portfolio by results, not screenshots

A beautiful mockup proves someone can use design software. A live site with traffic proves they can ship. Ask for the outcome behind each project.

Two Pixerry projects show what that looks like. Our talent recruitment landing page earned an Awwwards Honorable Mention for design and attracted more than 2,000 visits a day. The website for a Cyprus accounting and tax compliance firm shows the other side of the job: a local professional services business that has to look credible to clients from the first visit.

Check the platform logic too. A studio that only works in one tool will recommend that tool every time. In our experience, Webflow suits marketing sites your team wants to edit without a developer. Next.js suits products with custom logic, logins or heavy integrations. The right choice follows your goal.

What working with Pixerry looks like

Pixerry is a web studio for founders and small teams. We have shipped 35+ websites over 7+ years, won 20 design-industry awards, and work with clients across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We build in Webflow or in React and Next.js, and we pick the tool for your goal rather than our habit.

Every site is built for search from the start: SEO for Google, plus GEO (generative engine optimisation, which helps AI assistants like ChatGPT and Perplexity cite your business). Focused sites can launch in five days.

See the full scope on our Design & Development page, or check your current site against these common small-business web design mistakes before you brief anyone.

Tell us what your Cyprus business needs its website to do, and we will recommend the platform, scope and timeline to get there.

Frequently asked questions

No reliable public ranking of web design companies in Cyprus exists, so any claim to be the biggest is marketing. Size also says little about fit. For a founder-led business, a smaller team with live results in your sector is often a better match than a large agency where juniors do the work.
