Denee Motion est un studio boutique basé à Londres, spécialisé dans la création de films de mariage élégants et intemporels. Forts de plus de 15 ans d’expérience, ils réalisent des films authentiques pour des couples du monde entier.

This project was about emotion first. The site needed to mirror what the films deliver: intimacy, cinematic beauty, and human connection. Every design choice was shaped by empathy for visitors seeking not just a service, but something meaningful.
Performance, Emotion, and Conversion in a Video-Led Website
The aim wasn’t just to build a beautiful portfolio — it was to create a digital experience that feels as cinematic and emotionally resonant as the films themselves.
We needed to combine immersive storytelling with performance, clarity, and conversion-driven UX. The site had to inspire trust, hold attention, and guide couples toward making an enquiry — all while maintaining technical excellence.
Key goals included:
- Reflect the filmmaker’s style through motion-first design and elegant storytelling
- Maximise video visibility by showcasing work directly on the homepage
- Drive enquiries with a clear, focused user journey and contact flow
- Maintain top performance despite video-heavy content and third-party integrations
- Ensure SEO-readiness with structured content, metadata, and clean code
- Create a seamless mobile experience optimised for speed, touch, and video playback
- Blend subtle interactivity like parallax, magnetic hover, and reveal text effects to enhance engagement

Rebuilding a High-Performance, Video-Heavy Portfolio Website
Picture this: a wedding videographer whose films move people to tears — yet their website felt frozen in time. Motion was their language, but the old site looked more like a static gallery than a filmmaker’s showcase. Videos were hidden behind clicks, the design felt dated, and the emotional value of the work was lost. That disconnect wasn’t just visual — it hurt conversions and misrepresented the brand.
Below is a screencast of the website before the redesign.
We set out to change that by making motion the core of the experience: a looping hero video, ten films on the homepage, and no more buried content.
But building a high-performance, video-first site comes with technical weight. Vimeo’s third-party player added complexity for load time. Through strategic use of the Vimeo API, custom JavaScript, and performance budgeting, we delivered a cinematic UX without compromising speed — all while hitting top Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals scores.
Key challenges we addressed:
- Embedding 10+ videos without slowing down the site
- Maintaining fast load times despite heavy media
- Optimising Vimeo’s third-party player for performance
- Implementing layered motion: magnetic hover effects, parallax scrolling, and text reveal animations — without impacting performance
- Preserving SEO visibility with clean technical structure
- Delivering smooth transitions and responsive motion without layout shifts
From Static to Storytelling
The impact was immediate. With a cinematic UX, clear structure, and strong technical foundation, the site now performs as beautifully as it looks — both for users and in metrics.
Here’s what changed:
- A fully rebuilt, video-first portfolio that captures attention instantly
- Optimised Vimeo integration with smooth playback
- High Lighthouse scores despite heavy visual content on the homepage
- A clean SEO structure ready to support long-term keyword growth
- A mobile-friendly, fast-loading site that invites exploration and trust
A Cinematic Experience That Converts
The rebuilt website now reflects the emotional depth and cinematic style of the videographer’s work. Visitors are greeted with motion from the first second — no clicks, no waiting, just immersive video that speaks for itself. The experience feels premium, intentional, and human — exactly what couples are looking for when choosing someone to capture their story.
On the technical side, we achieved high performance scores despite heavy use of video and third-party integrations. Load times are fast, interactions feel smooth, and SEO structure is solid.
Most importantly, the site now works as a conversion tool — enquiries increased, bounce rates dropped, and the brand finally has a digital presence that matches the quality of its work.
